The most important preparation in any occult act you wish to perform is to clear your mind. Without a clear mind you risk your entire act itself and in turn bring out a desire unlike your original once, which could lead to more trouble for you in the end.
Each occult act should be in a mindset of total oneness, where your mind is like a unwavering candle and no thoughts can distract you and cause your will to falter. A great practice technique for building up your concentration is called Focal Meditation.
Focal Meditation is when you sit in one spot in a peaceful place where you will be undisturbed for a while and you focus on a single object for half an hour at a time or so. The best thing for many starting out is focal meditating on a candle flame. Look not only at the candle flame but try to feel it and look into the flame and into yourself. Try to find relaxation in the feeling of that oneness and hold onto that feeling. Don’t allow your mind to become distracted by any other lingering thoughts. Only feel and be aware of those sensations, but do not allow them to distract either, only enjoy them for what they are. Whenever you become distracted take in a large, relaxing, breath and try again. With a little practice you will get better and by mastering this your will is guaranteed to become unwavering and accurate: therefore amplifying all of your occult acts.
The occult is like a pyramid, a structure of great mystifying qualities and is a symbol of truth and innovation, but only with a strong foundation will it stand the test of time. Each block of the pyramid represent a topic of knowledge of the occult mind and the tip of the pyramid is much like the sharp point of a scholars will.
Be open to all things and absorb what you can from them, then make the best of it and use what you believe applies to you. Only with an open mind, body and soul will we be able to make and truly remarkable things happen.
